On November 7th and 8th , Consul General Zhang Zhen attended the Centennial Celebration Gala Night and Alumni Homecoming Event of Sun Yat Sen High School of Iloilo Inc. and delivered speeches respectively.

In her remarks, she hailed the school as a bridge between the two cultures and living testament to the enduring friendship between the two peoples. The history enlightens us that good neighborliness serves the fundamental interests of both peoples and is the shared aspiration of the two peoples, she said. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has become a leading global power renowned for its economic growth, social progress, cultural heritage, and significant contributions to world peace and development. She warmly encourage attendees to visit China or explore China firsthand through various means to learn about its true story. 

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and Taiwan’s return to China. The victory is our shared achievement of peace and justice. She pointed out that the restoration of Taiwan to China is an important part of the outcomes of WWII victory and post-war international order. A China achieving complete reunification will undoubtedly bring more benefits to the people of the whole world, she underscored. She wished people’s shared dedication to peace and prosperity forge a future where all nations flourish in harmony and where the bonds of friendship among peoples grow ever stronger.
