On July 12,Consul General Zhang Zhen attended the inauguration ceremony of a China-built vessel for Cokaliong Shipping Lines Inc.and delivered a message as follows:

Distinguished guests, Dear friends:

Good afternoon!

It is an honor and pleasure for me to join you at this historic moment for the inauguration and blessing ceremony of the Vessel M/V Filipinas Bohol.

Congratulations to Cokaliong family and  Cokaliong Shipping Lines! Congratulations to Cebuanos and Boholanos!

The year of 2024 witnessed that China's shipbuilding position maintained as the world's Number Onefor the 15th consecutive year. Today, I feel proud and very pleased to witness such a remarkable milestone here in Cebu, together with you, to inaugurate  this magnificent vessel, built with dedication and expertise by Chinese shipbuilder for the valued partner in Cebu.

This vessel carries the hopes of smoother commutes, safer journeys and vibrant economic activity for the communities it will serve. It meets the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and comfort.

This vessel is more than steel, engines, and innovation. It is a result of cooperation, a symbol of trust, a handshake across the ocean, a new bridge of friendship between our two peoples. Let its compass guide us toward shared horizons—where peace is the wind, cooperation the sail, and humanity the destination.

Its graceful lines remind us of the profound connections between us, neighbors across the sea, bound by shared history and a common vision for progress.

Its wonderful design is a testament to what we can achieve when we join hands with trust, professionalism, and shared goals.

Let me take this opportunity to pay tribute to everyone who contributed to today' s success.

May the crew sail with pride and wind at their backs!

May this vessel always enjoy calm seas, safe passages, and many years of reliable service!

May this vessel carry laughter of reunited families, the hopes of entrepreneurs, and the dreams of Cebuanos,Boholanos, and Visaya!

May the friendship and partnership between our peoples continue to grow stronger, deeper, and evermore fruitful!

Thank you.
